Question Number: 27331Law 8 - Start and Restart of Play 4/21/2013RE: Rec Under 11 Joe H of Dallas, TX Denton asks...At Kick-off Player A passes Player A passes backwards to Player B. Referee stops, informs players must be a pass forward, then Player A proceeds to pass back a second time. What is the restart after the second attempt? U10 Rec, modified in the number of players and field size otherwise regular soccer rules. Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Joe
Ir is another retake and it will continue to be a retake until it is done correctly.
If the referee believes that it is being done deliberately for unsporting reasons the player can be cautioned.
At Under 10 that is not an issue just the young player not understanding the Law

View Referee Joe McHugh profileAnswer provided by Referee Keith Contarino The retake is a kickoff. If this continues over and over and the referee believes it is being done intentionally and to waste time, a caution and yellow card would be considered.
At U10, this is highly unlikely and probably due to the players not understanding the proper procedure
