This question is a follow up to question 27503

Referee Keith Contarino wrote: 'The arm should stay up until the ball has been kicked and moved.'

This is not quite correct - according to the LotG, the referee's arm should remain raised 'until the kick has been taken and the ball has touched another player or goes out of play.'
