Question Number: 27991Law 15 - Throw In 11/10/2013RE: coach Adult jean joseph of rosedale, ny united states asks...During a dead ball out of bounds my player takes a throw and bounces the ball directly to the goalie and the goalie receives it with his hands. Is that not a legal play... Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi The goalkeeper may not touch the ball when it has been deliberately kicked to him or throw to him by a teammate. It is an indirect free kick from there the goalkeeper touched the ball with his hands. It makes no difference if the goalkeeper touches the ball with his feet outside the penalty area or the ball bounces before he touches it with his hands after it has been thrown to him by a team mate at a throw in.
