Question Number: 28458League Specific 5/25/2014RE: Rec Under 15 Olivia of Ottawa, Ontario Canada asks...Is the referee responsible to bring the game sheet before the game, or is the home team's Coach? Thanks. Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Olivia The answer lies in what is the 'norm' in your area. In the Leagues that I officiate on the referee brings the match card, game sheets for a particular game. However at underage some Leagues provide a supply to the clubs and it is the responsibility of the home club to provide the sheets. At higher levels the teams have access to team sheets off the web and while the referee would still be expected to provide the sheet many times it is already completed by the time the referee arrives. I always carry 'spare' cards, sheets, in my kit bag so that all eventualities are covered including leaving the card at home!! What I will say is that if no card is available then get a sheet of paper and get it completed with all the info required. Do not play the game without paperwork of some description.

One of my leagues even has an on-line template that the teams use. In house/recreational games, sheets are often missing, and we play the game anyway. In select/premier leagues, the game sheet must be there. Only in unique circumstances would we start the game without the sheet, with the player roster filled in.
