Question Number: 2856League Specific RE: Youth Football Other Nic Barker of Chelmsford, England asks...After recently qualifing to be a referee of Basildons Accosiation, I would now like to start becoming active. I am aware that I can only referee teams below my age, but how do I get going? Answer provided by Referee burbidge Congrats on getting your badge! As a new referee, you won't be well known by the convenors (those who give out the games) so be pro-active. Call the main convenor - likely you have been given the number of this person - and say you're just starting and would like some game assignments. If you do not have the number for this person then call the referee association in your area (in the phone book) or call someone you know who might have the number. Your first year requires a bit of fancy footwork, but when people get to know you as a reliable ref, they'll phone you. Good luck and have fun out there!
