Can a player cross his feet during a throw in as long as the throw is over his head and both feet are on the ground - per FIFA law

It makes no difference that a players feet are crossed as long as both are on the ground at the moment the ball is released.
I personally don't see the benefit of this.

It is allowed. The law requires that a part of each foot be touching the ground when the ball is released. How the feet are placed does not matter.

Frankly, we usually only see the 'cross feet' among new and very young players who are trying to learn how not to lift the back foot while throwing the ball.

Hi Leann,
generally that is used to help remind younger players to not lift the leg as it will throw you off balance, totally legal and no reason to worry. Not that a player gets a better distance throw from such a method! Cheers
