what happens when the goalie picks up the ball and does a drop kick, but the ball goes backwards into the goal without touching another player?

Hi Mark
The goalkeeper holds his head and apologises to his team mates as he has just scored a goal. Restart is a kick off.
An own goal cannot be scored from a kicked restart such as a goal kick.

Blame it on the wind! This is unfortunate but it would be counted as an own goal. Restart with a kick off.
