Manoj Kumar M of Palakkad (Dist), Kerala India asks...

I took a free kick and the ball hit the opponent team goal post and went for throw. The throw belongs to which team ?

Hi Manoj
As you were the last player to touch the ball the throw in is awarded to your opponents. Touching a goal post, corner flag or even for that matter the referee does not change the last touch / kick.

opposition gets the throw in, you were the last player to actually touch the ball!

As you were the last player to touch the ball, the throw in is awarded to your opponents. That the ball touched the post does not matter.
