Hi,
I have been refereeing for 10 years and have gained some good experience and done a great number of matches. I have been able to referee at a fairly high level in Switzerland and Canada. If I go to the UK, how do I go about gaining an equivalence for my status, so as to avoid starting from the bottom ?
Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Hi Reuben
First of all you need to know what location you intend to go to the in the UK. It then begins with your own Association notifying the receiving Affiliated Association in the UK of your transfer with Grade etc. On receipt of that notification, the receiving Affiliated Association will ensure that the Referee is made aware of the refereeing activities in the County appropriate to the grade and experience. In addition all the statutory requirements such CRB etc are completed
All Associations have a Referees Department who can be contacted either by email or by phone.

Rest assured you will not start at the bottom but at the appropriate grade equivalent from where you have come from.
