Question Number: 29748

Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 9/29/2015

RE: Competitive Under 16

Aaron Speca of Virginia Beach, Virginia United States asks...

This question is a follow up to question 29743

Thanks for the feedback! I feel it only fair to state that I noticed that AR's mechanics as far as arm and flag movement, but soon realized what is not apparent in the video - that the AR's right arm was injured in some fashion (it did not move the entire match), so he was only able to use one arm. I actually thought he did a pretty good job throughout the game given that issue.

Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh

Hi Aaron
Thanks for the clarification. Thought it was a bit strange yet I have seen ARs do this who did not have any ailment. Anyway well done to the AR based on your observations and I concur with the sentiments of my colleague Referee Dawson.

Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson

Hi Aaron,
a good example of thinking we know more than we do! Sigh. We expose our self righteous tendencies to think we are always right sitting in judgement when pointing out flaws in others. Apologies to the AR for presenting his actions as anything other than a good guy doing the best he can.
Cheers
