Question Number: 29770League Specific 10/2/2015RE: Adult Herb of Burton, Staffs Uk asks...In uk a player who receives 5 cautions prior to Nov.30 or Dec.31(Premier league) receives a one match ban. What would the suspension be that player received his 5th caution before the deadline date and then receiived a 2nd caution in that game and was sent off. Would he receive 1+1 = 2 games suspension? Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson Hi Herb, this is not up to the referee but the disciplinary committee. But red cards are often more than 1 day. I think depending on WHY 2 cautions for the red there might even be additional suspension time added past 2 days but the accumulation penalty will require an additional yellow card. Holding players accountable for their actions especially if they are endangering the safety of opponents or disrespecting match officials on a regular basis is a shaming of sorts. Although not sure the players see it as that, given many of the repetitive and consistent nature of the offenders. Cheers
