RE: Under 13

Jonathan Finley of Huntington Beach, C.A USA asks...

I wanted to know how to become a referee. I have played soccer for about seven years. So I know alot about the sport. I thought becoming a ref. for little kids would be fun and I could make some money. If you could send me some info on becoming a referee that would help.. . Sincerely Jonathan Finley

Answer provided by Referee Starr

The best place to start is with the club that you play for. Find out who is the Referee Coordinator for your club and advise him or her of your wishes. If that does not work, contact you District Director of Instruction which should be listed in the coaches manual. If all else fails, contact your State Director os Instruction. Good luck!

IN addition to the above ideas, please consider approaching a local referee who you know and ask her/him to help direct you to a contact person for upcoming referee classes. Keep trying, we need you.
