Question Number: 30327Kicks From The Penalty mark 4/20/2016RE: competitive College Ted Walde of Nairobi, Kenya asks...What happens in a situation where every penalty taker has taken their penalties during sudden death and the scores are still level? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Ted Very simple. Every eligible player must take a kick including the goalkeeper and if the scores are still tied the players take a second kick until one team misses and the other team scores or has scored. ie sudden death, The order of kicks in the second or subsequent rounds of penalty kicks can change The final of the 2005 Namibian Cup had to be settled by a world record of 48 penalty kicks, with KK Palace defeating the Civics 17–16 with 15 misses. A number of players on each side had to take three kicks in the kicks from the penalty mark.

This continues in the 'sudden death' fashion, until everybody has taken their second kick, then onto the third......and so forth! I have actually had games enter the third 'round' of kicks myself.
