Question Number: 30569Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 7/5/2016RE: Rec Adult russell of Sydney, Australia asks...This question is a follow up to question 30567 A small follow up to the scenario from Conrad, that Refs McHug and Wright responded too. Regarding the restart, Ref Wright advised 'it's a restart to the opposing team from where the offence occurred.' however, he had not clarified what kind of restart. Being a 'stopping play for any other reason to issue a caution or send off a player' would mean it is an IFK restart. Is that correct? Great question and replies. Very valuable. Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Russell Yes that is correct. If the referee stops for any other offence, not mentioned in the Laws, for which play is stopped to caution or send off a player it is a indirect free kick restart. In the example you refer to the referee did not stop to caution yet he did so for misconduct after play was stopped.
