Question Number: 30608Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 7/14/2016RE: Any Adult Ryan Cobelli of Kennesaw, GA USA asks...In a mass confrontation, the 3rd player into the mix is also observed throwing a punch. Once everything has been sorted out, should the referee show the player a yellow card then a red card or just the red card? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Ryan The player should be shown a red card for the serious offence of violent conduct. In the referees report the full details of what happened should be outlined. It would be akin to a player that commits a reckless challenge and then gets involved in violent conduct. The player should be shown the red card only with the reckless challenge included in the report.
