Question Number: 30683Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 8/24/2016RE: Amator Under 6 aymen soumer of KHOURIBGA, Khouribga Morocco asks...I hope you can answer me with the 'old' law (2015/2016) . What is the restart if ball in play a goalkeeper hits a player with his hand/leg while the player is in the goal area (between the goal line and the net ) . Another question, almost the same what is the restart if a player in the field hits with his hand a player close to the line and who is off the field (for law 4 , or blessure reason ...) Excuse my poor english, thank you Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Aymen Under the *old* law if the player was off the field of play the restart depended on how the players got there. If both were off the field of play as part of a playing movement then it was a dropped ball restart after the player was sent off for violent conduct. If say a player deliberately left the field of play to hit the player then the restart was an IDFK from where the ball was when play was stopped.
On your second question it was the same answer under the old laws either a dropped ball if they were entitled to be off the field of play or an IDFK from where the ball was when play was stopped if the player left the field of play to strike the opponent. The Law has been changed since June 2016 on these offences.
