Question Number: 30741Kicks From The Penalty mark 9/9/2016RE: Adult Haji Hussain Jan of Muscat, Muscat Oman asks...According to the new rule if a player feint taking a penalty kick, he will be cautioned and IDFK againt him. What should a ref do. If a player feints in a penalty shootout Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Haji The answer is the same in that the player is cautioned for unsporting behaviour and the penalty is counted as a miss. Now it is important to state that this only applies to illegal feinting which is stopping at the moment of the kick so that the goalkeeper dives and then the ball is kicked in the opposite side Feinting to disguise direction of the kick and the players intention is still very much allowed.
