Question Number: 30968Law 11 - Offside 10/28/2016RE: Amateur Adult George of Parangarecutirimicuaro, CA Sacratomato asks...This question is a follow up to question 30953 I referee in an adult league where this particular play is common. I find that many defenders tend to lose their focus when there are players in offside position in the penalty box. This often results in onside players being left unaccounted for thus potential for a goal is higher. Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi George No concern of the referee. Poor defending to get distracted by possible offside. Old adage of play to the whistle applies.

It is true the art of the distraction is to give more than a passing thought will the referee see these guys as offside or not?> Our situational awareness must reflect our own concerns. Cheers lol
