Question Number: 30985League Specific 11/1/2016RE: rec Under 18 jivey of Sydney, NSW Australia asks...In six a side (not indoor) when the ball is shot in your own half and it hits a defender then goes in the goal, is that a valid goal or is it disqualified under the own half rule. Cheers ! Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol Given that 6v6 is not a part of the FIFA Laws of the Game, you will have to address your local rules. There's no way that our small panel can be familiar with all the competition rules throughout the world. That said, if Ref Wright happens to work in your league, he might know the answer! But I doubt he commutes from Melbourne.

So it is not covered under the general Laws of the Game. If I was make a guess at it I would say that the deflection off the defender negates the direct shot where a goal cannot be scored directly from ones half. Sure it could be argued that it was a strong pass to a team mate that was deflected by an opponent.
