Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 3/28/2017

RE: Competitive Under 13

Aaron Speca of Virginia Beach, VA United States asks...

Defender (blue) and attacker (white) collision with no contact on the ball. Foul? Reckless? There was no call on the field.

Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh

Hi Aaron
My opinion on this is that it is a foul by White on Blue. I would not go with a caution here. As Blue comes away with the ball, seems anxious to get on with play and open space in front then the best decision may have been advantage and to get on with play. Blues do not seem to react to the foul so continuing with play is okay provided of course there was no injury to deal with. If there was an injury then play should be stopped and free awarded.

Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson

Hi Aaron, this was a charging foul by the white player s a DFK for blue IF whistle was to sound to stop play. There is no obvious reason to show yellow card and if this was ignored, or if advantage was a consideration it COULD be because blue had easy uncontested ball possession the referee just kind of went with the flow.
Cheers
