I HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT WAYS IN KEEPING MY BOOK DRY. WE OFTEN REF IN WEATHER THAT IS POURING RAIN, BLOWING RAIN ETC AND I FIND IT DIFFICULT TO KEEP MY BOOK DRY. I HAVE EVEN RESORTED TO HAVING ONE OF MY AR'S KEEP THE SCORE BECAUSE MY GAME SHEET BECAME TOTALLY WET AND SHREDDED.

ONE WAY I HAVE TRIED IS TO KEEP MY BOOK IN A WATER PROOF BAGGIE...BUT OPENING IT & CLOSING IT IS TIME CONSUMING & THE RAIN STILL HITS THE PAPER WHEN OUT OF THE PLASTIC.

ANYBODY GOT ANY BRIGHT IDEAS.

In this part of the world it is a constant problem
What works for me is the plastic referee notepad with a regular game sheet. Once in my top pocket it stays pretty tightly closed so it is a quick open and jot down of the detail with it being closed quickly.

Rain always makes things harder. How about keeping it in a small plastic bag?

Hi Steve,
We've all suffered here! On some occasions I've resorted to making tiny tears in my page for each goal. I have no idea what I was going to do if I had to issue a card!!

These days I prefer write-on cards that some retailers offer. These are plastic cards with spots to record all game information. Some retailers offer some which are supposed to work in the rain (along with a suitable pencil) - I haven't tried these out but maybe look into that.

If you are refereeing with neutral AR's they should all be keeping a full match record anyway - though you want to advise them before the match to ensure that all 3 of you aren't writing at the same time.
