Question Number: 31976Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 11/2/2017RE: Adult Muhammad Rizwan of Abbottabad, Abbottabad Pakistan asks...Sir, During the match a goalkeeper while kick-off just measure the goal post with his feet and after getting the center of the goalpost he just draw a line with his boat/shoes and in result the white line is damage and he draw this line upto penalty mark.. referee comes and give him a yellow card what you say? Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol Good job by the referee. Players are not allowed to make markings on the field. It is one of the reasons listed in the Laws of the Game for a caution: '• makes unauthorised marks on the field of play'

View Referee Gary Voshol profileAnswer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Nuhammad Yes that is a caution for making unauthorised marks on the field of play. Some times referees miss this as the GKs do it when the referee is not there. Not much that can be done when the action is not seen.
