Does the match clock start the time referee blows a whistle or from the moment player kicks the ball and its in the play?
If after whistle no player kicks the ball and there is 1min of delay (for fight or arguing etc) it makes a big difference. Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi
The time technically starts from when the ball is put into play which starts the game. Generally there is little if any difference between the whistle being sounded and the kick being taken.
I would also say that without a kick and some reason for the game to be *stopped* most referees would start all over again when the matter that prevented the start is resolved.
