Question Number: 32410Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 4/29/2018RE: competitive College timm of succasunna, NJ US asks...ball is out of play over touch line. Player, in own half of field, properly throws the ball in play back to his own GK. The GK picks the ball up after a bounce or two and kicks the ball up field. Can the GK pick up the ball? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Tim A goalkeeper may not touch the ball with his hands when the ball has been deliberately kicked to him by a team mate or thrown to him at a Atai by a team mate. It is an IDFK from where he touches the ball with his hands In your example it should have been an IDFK where the GK picked the ball up.

This should not have been allowed and an indirect free kick should have been awarded from where the keeper touched the ball with the hands.
