Question Number: 32459Mechanics 5/20/2018RE: Rec and select High School mary ramirez-de-arellano of damascus, maryland USA asks...I have watched many people play soccer and I have refereed it for 8 years. I have never played it. I did get an E license in coaching but decided I preferred refereeing for a few reasons. I would like to know more about soccer from the coaches angle. Can you recommend a book about coaching the game from the referees standpoint? I hear other referees talking about strategies teams are using . It seems that probably by knowing coaching their refereeing is enhanced. Any recommendations? Thanks! Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Mary There are any amount of books out there on coaching and tactics. One referee book that I found helpful was the Evans and Bellion book The Art of Refereeing. Some good help and info in there on tactics from a refereeing perspective. https://www.amazon.com/Art-Refereeing-Techniques-Advice-Referee/dp/0713672110
