Question Number: 32479 5/28/2018RE: Rec Adult Mitch of Ottawa, Ontario Canada asks...After a drop ball, the ball rolls into net after no one touched it.
What is the restart?
I'd say it's a retake. Answer provided by Referee Peter Grove Hi Mitch,
You are right - this is a retake.The law says that:
''The ball is dropped again if it [...] leaves the field of play after it touches the ground, without touching a player''

Yes it is a retake.
Only question I would have is allowing that to happen in a game. The ball will have to have travelled six yards on a situation where there is a goalkeeper and no doubt other players.
I cannot see it happening yet it is provided for in the Laws although more likely on a DB close to a boundary line
