Question Number: 32648Other 8/14/2018RE: Adult Hugh Miller of 45 Masonhill Road, Ayr, Scotland asks...How many 'home' grounds can a Premier League Club use in one season ? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Hugh I would say it is a matter for the Premier League Rules of Competition. Not all grounds meet the exacting licensing standards of the Premier league in terms of safety, media use etc. In addition the PL will require a legally binding agreement for use of the ground by the PL team for all its games Tottenham uses Wembley while White Hart Lane is being refurbished. So Tottenham will use two grounds in 2018/19. Groundshare is another feature. West Ham shared their home stadium with Charlton Athletic from 1991 until 1992. It may become a feature in the future certainly involving other sports.

View Referee Joe McHugh profileAnswer provided by Referee Peter Grove Hi Hugh, According to the Premier League rules, teams are to play all their home games on the same ground. This season, Tottenham Hotspur have been given an exceptional, one-time exemption from this rule as their new ground has not received a safety certificate yet. They will play a number of games at Wembley Stadium, the exact number being unclear at this stage - it depends on how long it takes them to get a safety certificate issued for their newly-constructed stadium.
