Question Number: 33268Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 4/24/2019RE: Adult S of Syd, Nsw Aus asks...Hi I always complicate the substitute enters field, outside agent or player leaves the feild to commit a offence restart. I now understand IDF is replaced by DF or drop ball. Can you simply it for a way to remember? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi It is difficult to generalise now as we did in the past yet we can say that if an offence involves a player, substitute or substituted player connected with play it is likely to be a direct free kick from where the offence took place which includes offences just over a boundary line. The rest we have to learn by rote and my advice is to look at the ones most likely to happen in a game such as illegal entry on to the FOP, violent conduct etc
