Question Number: 34916

Law 18 - Common Sense 3/11/2023

Zluvka of Liberec, Northern Bohemia Czech Republic asks...

This question is a follow up to question 32014

Are your 2017 answers still valid today? (I read somewhere that this does not apply to the goalkeeper's throw. The decisive moment is said to be before he releases the ball from his hand.) Thank you.

Answer provided by Referee MrRef

HI Zluvka,
unfortunately older answers may no longer be correct as they often change portions of the LOTG and we do not have the resources to go through the original questions. It is best to re-ask the question to be in accordance with todays explanations.

On our web page we do state CLEARLY

QUOTE
Over the past 24 years we have amassed hundreds of thousands of questions & answers but the LOTG always change and/or portions no longer apply.

It is essential to reread the latest version of the Laws of the Game as they are constantly being tweaked, reevaluated and rewritten each year!
