Second attempt…..hi, a game is abandoned due to weather conditions with 20 minutes to go. What happens after that?
Replay/result stands?

HI Neil,
It not a referee decision to decide a winner, although it is their discretion to abandon or terminate for just cause! It would be in the by-laws of the league association they play under or the rules of competition in a tournament to decide on how to proceed. It could be results stand as per score line at the time of termination if there is no way to make up, it could be replayed, they could simply restart where it left off. I once saw KFTPM used to decide a match only 3/4s played as darkness was falling and the two teams were tied. It would depend on the adaptability and timing of those in charge to be able to figure out solution that is practical.

It is nice to have homefield advantage, but it could be a tie for one team or the other might be a good result, thus unwilling to go along once a decision is reached by the league, the two teams can either agree to meet those terms, or pay a fee to file a protest but that is a unreasonable solution just frittering money away. The league will simply claim it as a tie or possibly a forfeit if one or the other team refuses to play to their specifications.

Hi Neil,
As mentioned in the previous response, this is not really a refereeing question. What happens if a game is abandoned before being completed is a matter for the competition organisers to decide. They should take a decision based on what is contained in the rules of competition.
