Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct

RE: Pro Adult

Manu J Yohannan of Mavelikara, Kerala India asks...

What are the penal offences for which you award direct free kicks?

Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer

Manu the 10 direct free kick offenses are tripping and the attempt to, kicking and the attempt to, jumping at, charging, striking and the attempt to, pushing, tackles and gets the opponent before the ball, holding, spitting at an opponent and deliberate handling. ..The rule of thumb that says -contact direct no contact indirect- fails with the attempts to kick, trip and strike as all are direct free kick offenses. ..Regards,
