Question Number: 14075Other 10/8/2006Gary Voshol of Royal Oak, MI USA asks...This question is a follow up to question 14036 Re: 14036 - Are we sure it was goose droppings? One time I went out onto one of our fields where geese have been seen, and I thought it was covered with droppings. A little closer examination revealed that they had aireated the field, and the cores pulled out of the turf looked just like a vast flock of geese had visited. If it had been wet, I'd imagine the cores would clog up cleats. Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer Gary, we don't know for sure if it was the proverbial stuff through a goose or not. I do know in this the area there are places where geese do tend to hang out, they do tend to leave a mess and it does tend to stick to things better than mud.
Regards,

Mind you the bright green grass set with mountains all around is one of the most beautiful places to play one could imagine. But those damn geese who will not set still during hunting season crowd around the fields by the thousands and offer their ahem opinons on the state of the officiating. The only place where when playing a soccer match we had to suspend the match temporarily as we were being attacked by their bomber command fly overs. LOL!;o) Cheers
