Question Number: 18642Law 15 - Throw In 3/29/2008RE: Competitive High School Sean of Holliston, Massachusetts USA asks...This question is a follow up to question 18539 So basically, you're saying; technically, on a throw in, you can throw the ball DIRECTLY at the opposing keeper. If it bounces off of him in any way, if the ball lands inside of the net it's a goal? Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson Hi Sean, Absolutely in fact you could throw it towards your own keeper and if he touches that ball with his hand which is an INDFK event and the referee plays advantage as the ball hits the hand and goes into the goal that is a goal not an indfk. In either case for you or against you the throw in cannot go DIRECTLY into the goal without first contacting ANY one of the other 21 players if it does it is a goal kick or a corner kick depending on who did the throw and which net it wound up in! Cheers
