Question Number: 20066

League Specific 9/25/2008

RE: College

lekanyane of PETALING JAYA, SELANGOR, MALAYSIA Malaysia asks...

hello sir or madam, what happens if a team does not attend a league fixture match???Is it possible for a team to win the league with forfeited points???pliz help me i need this answers as soon as possible

Thanx

Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson

League policy is what YOUR league applies to thse situations. FIFA does not mandate other competition policy, that is a LOCAL board decision of those in charge of the bylaws and policy with reguards to standings and statistics, it is not a referee function.
I can tell you this in out local youth league failure to show up at the proper time or too few players the game is classifiesd as a 1 to 0 win in the stats if no proper reason for the no show is presented. The match is ordered to be replayed if there were mitigating circumstances as in bus crashed on the way to the game or landslide blocked road etc.. I forgot to set my alarm clock or I got the dates mixed up does not cut it!
Cheers
