Question Number: 21114League Specific 4/10/2009RE: Rec & Select Under 16 Peter Grove of Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire England asks...This question is a follow up to question 21066 Sorry, just a follow up to my earlier follow up. I should mention that any changes agreed by the IFAB in an AGM, do not come into effect till the following season. Normally (as mentioned earlier by one of your panellists) FIFA issues the updated version of the LOTG in July. However it is not true to say that there is no way of knowing before July, what the changes are going to be. The IFAB usually meets every year around Feb/March time and the meeting minutes or a press release by FIFA, issued shortly thereafter, will include information about the changes due to come into effect later in the year. For instance, this year we already know that there will be changes regarding Laws 1 & 11, as well as to the sections regarding Kicks from the Penalty Mark, and The Technical Area. Answer provided by Referee Michelle Maloney Peter, it is accurate to say there is no guarantee what comes out of the Feb/March meeting of the IFAB will actually make it into the final version released in July. We all know what changes are proposed and will most likely be implemented. Let's leave it at that, shall we?
