Question Number: 26024Law 16 - Goal Kick 3/3/2012RE: Other Scott of Vancouver, Canada asks...Recently saw a video where a goalkeeper takes his goal kick, the ball leaves the penalty area gets caught up in the wind and then gets blown back into his own net. Is this a good goal (own goal) or would this be ruled a corner kick? Thanks, Answer provided by Referee Dennis Wickham An own goal may not be scored directly on a goal kick. Unless the ball touches another player, the restart is a corner kick.
