Answer provided by Referee Gene Nagy

The requirements for a throw in were followed when the ball left the player's hand.
Steve, don't sweat too much about throw ins; unless it is clearly illegal . There are much bigger fish to fry than deciding if one foot slightly over the line.

Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson

We do not punish a slip or a miss step unless they are very very long and very very often and on purpose to create confusion or delay. A throw in is a simple method to restart play. No call required
Cheers
